The Institute of Physical Chemistry the most pro-doctoral institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences

The University of Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Technology among the universities and the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences among the institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences have won the competition for the most pro-doctoral scientific institutions. The National Representation of PhD Students has decided the results of the PRODOK and PROPAN competitions.

The competition for the Most Pro-Doctoral University in Poland - PRODOK has been held for the eleventh time and the competition for the Most Pro-Doctoral Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences - PROPAN for the sixth.

The competition assesses, among others, the regulations of doctoral studies, scholarships awarded by universities, the conditions for the functioning of the PhD students' student councils or the presence of their representatives in university bodies. The PhD students’ research, grants and funding obtained by them for conducting their studies and supporting international cooperation are also analysed.

This year, the organizers received 30 applications from universities from all over the country and 23 applications from institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences conducting doctoral studies.

In the PRODOK competition for the most pro-doctoral universities, the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw University of Technology won jointly. The Jagiellonian University took second place. Third place went to the Medical University of Warsaw and the Gdańsk University of Technology.

The PRODOK competition jury also awarded distinctions. For a very good result in the category of Technical Universities, a distinction went to the Wrocław University of Technology; for a very good result in the category of Medical Universities to the Medical University of Silesia and the Medical University of Łódź; for a very good result in the Universities category to the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.

The Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences won the PROPAN competition for pro-doctoral institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The second place went to the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry PAS and third place to the Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics PAS.

The PROPAN competition jury also awarded distinctions for the best result among the Department V institutes to the Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy PAS.
