I. General provisions

The provisions below constitute the Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Privacy Policy"), which defines information concerning the collection of data, including personal data of the users of the services(s) provided by the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) with its registered office at 44/52 Kasprzaka Street in Warsaw and the manner of their processing.

II. Personal data

The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS makes every effort to ensure that its website makes it easy for all users to browse the site and send messages. Therefore, for the sake of safety and convenience of communication, we would like to inform you that by browsing the website you agree to the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS using cookies and other personal data you provide voluntarily. The data you will be asked for in the contact forms are necessary for the operation of the website or the service. The provision of data is voluntary. Failure to provide the required data will block the activity which the data concerns.

III. Types and purpose of data use

Cookies (Ciasteczka)

The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS automatically collects data contained in cookies when the website is used. Cookies are small text files sent to an Internet user's computer identifying it in a manner necessary to perform a given operation, e.g. in the form of authentication, collection of statistical data or saving data in contact forms.

Cookies are harmless for both the computer and users and their data. The condition for cookies to work is that the browser accepts them and does not delete them from the disk. In many cases, the software used to browse web pages (the browser) allows the storage of cookies in the end user's device by default. However, the settings of the browser can be changed, in particular to block the automatic operation of cookies in the settings of the browser or inform about their placement in the user's terminal device each time. Detailed information about the possibilities and methods of handling cookies are available in the browser software settings. However, the service or its individual functionalities may not work properly without cookies.

Subscription to free newsletters

To subscribe to electronic and free newsletters belonging to the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS, you need to provide your e-mail address and other data, e.g. name, etc., in the appropriate form. The data obtained in this way are added to the mailing list of the service.

News

The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS reserves the right to send messages to persons whose contact details it has in its possession and who have agreed to have the data provided in the forms being processed, in accordance with the Privacy Policy. The term "messages" is understood by the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS to mean information relating directly to its websites, services and products (e.g. changes, internal promotions), non-commercial letters (e.g. greetings, personal comments, etc.) and commercial information (mailings, promotions, advertisements, other marketing materials). Entities ordering commercial mailings do not have access to the contact details of persons on the address lists of the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS.

Other forms

Forms, pop-up windows and other forms appearing on websites belonging to the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS and relating to services, products or websites not supported by the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS are not subject to the "Privacy Policy".

IV. The rights of users with regard to personal data

The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS shall ensure that users transferring their personal data exercise their rights under the Personal Data Protection Act of August 29th 1997 (consolidated text in Journal of Laws of 2002, No. 101, item 926, as amended), including the right to request that their personal data be supplemented, updated, corrected, their processing be temporarily or permanently suspended or that the data are deleted if they are incomplete, out-dated, untrue, or have been collected in breach of the Act or are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected.

The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS applies technical and organisational measures aimed at the best possible protection of the personal data collected against unauthorised access or misuse by unauthorised persons.

V. Changes in the Privacy Policy

The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS reserves the right to introduce changes to the Privacy Policy. All users of the website belonging to the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences are bound by the current "Privacy Policy". The Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS will inform about any changes in the Privacy Policy on the website.
