Pd/MWCNTs catalyst for the electrooxidation of formic acid, method of its preparation, its use in direct formic acid fuel cells and such a fuel cell
The subject of the invention is a palladium containing catalyst deposited on multi-wall carbon nanotubes (Pd/MWCNTs) for formic acid electrooxidation, an improved method of obtaining such a catalyst, its use in formic acid fuel cells and such a fuel cell. In particular, the invention includes an improved method of obtaining a highly active palladium containing catalyst deposited on multi-wall carbon nanotubes for formic acid electrooxidation, its use in formic acid fuel cells and such a fuel cell (DFAFC).
- Advantages / Innovative aspects:
The developed catalyst has a higher activity than commercial palladium catalyst, which allows to reduce investment costs and operating costs of the fuel cell.

The formic acid fuel cell can be used to supply portable electrical devices in places where there is no access to electricity.
