Offer no. 6/18

Molecularly imprinted polymer film for selective tyramine determination, its fabrication and its application in chemosensor for selective detection and/or determination of analites, especially tyramine.

  • Summary:

The present invention comprises a new molecularly imprinted polymer film for selective tyramine determination, its fabrication and its application in chemosensor for selective detection and/or determination of analites, especially tyramine.

  • Inventors:
Viknasvarri Ayerdurai, Maciej Cieplak, Marianna Gajda, Agnieszka Ziminska, Francis D'Souza, Włodzimierz Kutner
  • Advantages / Innovative aspects:
    • High analytical and functional parameters of the chemosensor, i.e., a determination of tyramine in micromolar concentration range and a high selectivity with respect to interfering substances.
    • Elaboration of self-reporting polymer that enables performing determinations without addition of redox probe to examined samples.
  • Keywords:
Molecularly imprinted polymer, conductive polymers, tyramine, food toxins, self-reporting polymer
  • Field:
  • Usage:

Chemosensor for selective tyramine determination can be applied in food quality control protocols. Moreover, patients threated with MAO inhibitors and anti-depressive drugs should avoid tyramine uptake. It may cause harmful malignant hypertension. It is so called “cheese effect”.
