Offer no. 1/14

The platform and its use for the detection and / or identification of microorganisms, especially bacteria, via the technique of surface enhanced Raman effect and a method for the deposition of these microorganisms on produced platforms

  • Summary:

The invention is a platform and its use for the detection and / or identification of microorganisms, especially bacteria, via the technique of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and a method for depositing these microorganisms on produced platforms. In particular, the invention includes a method of depositing micro-organisms, particularly bacteria, suspended in a liquid / liquid / solution (e.g., blood, plasma, water, waste water), on the polymer mat of nano- and micrometer sized polymer fibers coated with metal, and a platform for the measurement of surface enhanced Raman made by this method.

  • Advantages / Innovative aspects:
    • The method enables the deposition of bacteria from solutions with their lower content, increasing the concentration of bacteria in a specific area of the platform.
    • The SERS platform acts also as a filter, therefore it shortens the procedure and prevents contamination of the sample.
  • Keywords:
