Key responsibilities include

Successful candidate tasks:

  • Support technically development of novel instrumentation for anterior segment OCT
  • Maintenance of software developed for measuring stands and prototype instruments for corneal deformation measurements
  • Working in tandem with other staff members such as Project Manager, Engineers, Optical systems Developers, Software Developers from project partners as well as independently
  • Closely cooperate with POB group, its leader and partners from ImCustomEye consortium,

01/01/2022 – 31/12/2022 with possible extension in case of an extension of the project implementation period and depending on funds;

Scientific profile of a candidate

First Stage Researcher (R1)

Requirements

We are looking for a person with has practical skills in constructing optical devices including fiber-based optics;

at least 1 year of experience in construction of optical  devices, especially in prototyping of electro-opto-mechanical devices.

A candidate should be well-versed in:

  • SolidWorks software and one of modern programming languages (C, C++, MATLAB, or Python).
  • ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of personnel at multiple levels of expertise;
  • proficiency in English.

Key assessment criteria

  • MSc or BSc (in the case of a foreigner or Polish citizen who obtained at least a professional title abroad) in physics/engineering, specialized in optics
  • experience in constructing, rearranging and examining of complex optical setups, especially in imaging optics
  • SolidWorks software and one of modern programming languages (C, C++, MATLAB, or Python).
  • ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of personnel at multiple levels of expertise;
  • mobility in his/her scientific career (including completed research internships, change in the scientific profile, internships and work in industry);
  • creativity measured by the quality and number of inventions.
  • proficiency in English.

Recruitment procedure

Successful candidates fulfilling the main eligibility criteria will be invited for an interview. The interview will be carried out on 21st December 2021 in IPC PAS or online

Candidates  who  have  been  issued  a  negative  opinion  by  the  Competition  Committee  or  candidates  not selected for employment have the right to appeal against the results of the evaluation. The appeal shall be  lodged  with  the  Director  of  the  Institute  within  7  days  from  the  date  of  receipt  of  the  appropriate information. The decision of the Director of the Institute shall be final.
