Project description

Project title, type and project number

Changes of intracellular transport during cell death, NCN OPUS 17 no. 2019/33/B/ST4/00557, 72/2021

Project leader

Dr inż. Karina Kwapiszewska

Description

The goal of the project, is understanding physical changes occurring during programmed cell death: apoptosis and necroptosis. Cells of different ages and origins will be subjected to these processes in order to observe phenomena universal for various types of tissues. We will apply correlation techniques: fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) and raster image correlation spectroscopy (RICS). We will follow the movement of known fluorescent probes as well as native autofluorescence components. Three distinct topics are available within the project:

1) “Influence of antibiotics on cellular nanoviscosity”

2) “Studies of mobility of apoptosis inducing agents in cells”

3) “Studies on biophysical symptoms of starvation”
