Description
We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. The position is part of the consortium project entitled “Benchmarking Human Tissue Culture Systems that Mimic the Tumor Microenvironment”, financed by the NCN (National Science Centre). The consortium provides an international and interdisciplinary research environment with close links to tissue engineering, 3D cancer model systems, microfluidics, single-cell sequencing, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. The project involves transcriptomic profiling of Head & Neck Squamous Cell Carcinomas (HNSCC) using in-house state-of-the-art microfluidic highthroughput single-cell sequencing methods. The consortium will analyze primary tumor tissues and in vitro model systems such as patient-derived organoids (PDO) and patient-derived explants (PDE).

About the group: The Computational Genomics Group at IPC PAS is led by dr Marcin Tabaka (co-PI in the OPUS project) and leverages experimental and computational approaches in high-throughput single-cell transcriptome
and epigenome profiling to address fundamental questions in biomedical research (https://tabaka-lab.org).

Key responsibilities include
• Design, execute, analyze, and interpret experiments including high-throughput single-cell RNA-seq profiling;
• Assess quality controls of NGS data generated in the project;
• Cooperate with the partners at Medical University of Lublin (Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) and University of Warsaw (Department of Biology);
• Participation in the research project and attendance at team meetings to share results;
• Prepare and write scientific papers for leading journals.

100% of the work time of Postdoc will be devoted to the realization of the proposed project. The offer is for 6 months with a possible extension.

The job in the exciting interdisciplinary project, realized in a collaboration with Prof. Matthias Nees, dr Adolfo Rivero-Muller from the Medical University of Lublin and dr Tomasz Kaminski from the University of Warsaw. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for short scientific visits in the group of our collaborators in UMLub and UW, as well as participation in seminars and international conferences.
