Description
We seek a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoctoral researcher to join our group at ICTER IPC PAS The position inlclude work upon project entitled “The effect of Western diet modified with vegetable oils on the healing process of skin wounds in mice”, financed by the NCN (National Science Centre). Our research focuses on single-cell genomics, biotechnology, and bioinformatics. The project involves transcriptomic and chromatin profiling of skin tissue. The postdoctoral researcher will work on cell-type-specific mechanisms underlying diet-related changes of healed skin based on wet laboratory ecperiments and bioinformatics The Institute provides an international and interdisciplinary research environment.

Key responsibilities include
• Design, execute, analyse, and interpret experiments including highthroughput single-cell RNA-Seq & ATAC-Seq profiling;
• Assess quality controls of NGS data generated in the project;
• Cooperate with the partners at the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research Polish Academy of Sciences;
• Interact effectively with group members;
• Participation in the research project and attendance at team meetings to share results;
• Prepare and write scientific papers for leading journals.

We offer a post-doctoral position (full-time employment) in the Institute of Physical Chemistry PAS with a gross salary of Around 9600 PLN gross per month financed from the NCN OPUS 25, Project no. 2023/49/B/NZ9/01925, entitled “The effect of Western diet modified with vegetable oils on the healing process of skin wounds in mice.” 100% of the work time of Postdoc will be devoted to the realization of the proposed project. The offer is for 6 months with a possible extension.

Requirements
• Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Genomics, or related quantitative discipline obtained in the year of employment in the project or within 7 years before 1 January of the year of employment in the project. For researchers with multiple PhDs, the date of the first PhD award is deemed the reference date. Extension might apply according to National Science Centre, Poland, rules.
• Additionally, the candidate for the post-doctoral position must meet the following condition:
✓ their PhD degree has been awarded by another institution than the one planned to employ them at this post or they have completed a continuous and evidenced postdoctoral fellowship of at least 10 months in another institution than the host institution for the project and in another country than the one in which they have been conferred a PhD degree;
• Solid knowledge and familiarity with techniques in molecular biology and genomics;
• Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing. Knowledge of bioinformatics tools for analysis of genomics datasets;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills;
• Ability to work independently and interact effectively in an interdisciplinary team;
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

The Commission will take into account the following criteria and evaluate applications on a point scale:
· Competence for specific tasks in a research project;
· Previous scientific achievements (publication record);
· Candidate’s own initiative in research projects.

· motivation letter;
· a scan of the PhD diploma or other document confirming PhD degree.

• Candidates who have been issued a negative opinion by the Competition Committee or candidates not selected for employment have the right to appeal against the results of the evaluation. The successful candidate for the post-doctoral position shall, for the full term of their employment within the project, be obligated to maintain compliance with the following conditions: · their PhD degree has been awarded by another institution than the one planned to employ them at this post or they have completed a continuous and evidenced post-doctoral fellowship of at least 10 months in another institution than the host institution for the project and in another country than the one in which they have been conferred a PhD degree; · at the time of receiving remuneration, they will not be receiving any other remuneration paid from the funds granted to research projects under NCN calls under the heading of direct costs · they did not have the principal investigator as their research supervisor or auxiliary supervisor of their PhD dissertation; · in the period of receiving the remuneration they will be receiving no remuneration from another employer pursuant to an employment contract, including an employer with registered office outside of Poland.

Postdoc
A postdoc type post is a full-time post, scheduled by the project’s principal investigator for a person who has been conferred a PhD degree in the year of employment in the project or within 7 years before 1 January of the year of employment in the project. For researchers with multiple PhDs, the date of the first PhD award is deemed the reference date. This period may be extended by a time of long-term (in excess of 90 days) documented sick leaves or rehabilitation leaves granted on account of being unfit to work. In addition, the period may be extended by the number of months of a child care leave granted pursuant to the Labour Code and in the case of women, by 18 months for every child born or adopted, whichever manner of accounting for career breaks is preferable.
