For measurements, the standard apparatus for liquid chromatography is used, but in this case its use is unusual. The chromatograph does not contain a chromatographic column, which means that the compounds do not undergo separation. The column has been replaced by a long, thin, polymer capillary. Studies using this equipment involve measurement of the diffusion coefficients of different types of substances in coiled capillaries at high flow rates and measurements of the equilibrium constant of complex formation in thin capillary flow systems. It is also possible to connect different types of chromatographic columns.
