- Name:
- Langmuir trough with Brewster angle microscope and surface potential sensor
- Producer:
- Nima Technology, Ltd.
- Model:
- BAM 601
- Research group:
- Team 18. Functional Polymers
- Description:
-
The BAM 601 Langmuir trough enables the simultaneous study of compressibility of layers and determination of the normal dipole moment to the interface using the Nima PS-4 surface pressure sensor and Nima KP 2 surface potential sensor, respectively. During compression and expansion, the surface morphology of the layer floating on the aqueous sub-phase is monitored by the MiniBAM Brewster angle microscope from NFT-Nanofilm Technologie, GmbH (Göttingen, Germany). In addition, the bath is equipped with a Nima D1L vertical linear dipper. It enables the transfer of layers from the aqueous sub-phase to solid surfaces.

Parametr fizyczny | Opis parametru |
Environment | The measurement should be carried out in a room free of dust and other contaminants and with the lowest possible sound level. |
Temperature | Measurements are usually performed at room temperature. It is possible to control the temperature of the aqueous sub-phase with the thermostat provided with the trough. |
- Type of measurement: Lifting monolayers onto a solid surface
- Test method: Vertical dipping of a solid substrate at constant surface pressure

- Opis:
Using the Nima D1L linear dipper, Langmuir layers are transferred by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique in a controlled manner ( i.e. at constant surface pressure) to solid substrates such as mica or quartz plates.
