Description:

The Nikon C1 Confocal Microscope is a device for measuring fluorescence correlation using spectroscopy. It is equipped with a PicoHarp 300 fluorescence correlation spectroscopy module from PicoQuant and two detectors based on avalanche photovoltaics. The microscope is built into a chamber that allows for the control of measurement temperature and atmosphere (gases: nitrogen, CO2). It is possible to mount an environmental control chamber to measure as a function of temperature.

  • Opis:

    The study consists of analyzing the fluctuation of the concentration of the fluorescent analyte in confocal volume. On this basis, using the appropriate algorithms, implemented in the software included with the apparatus, the mean time of fluorophore residence time in the test volume is determined. Then, on this basis, the coefficient of diffusion of the test substance is determined using the Einstein- Smoluchowski equation.
