The Library of the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a specialised scientific library with a rich collection in the fields of chemistry, physics and related sciences. The majority of our collection is in languages other than Polish, mainly in English. We are a community library, open to all those who share an interest in the subject matter of our collection.

IPC PAS Library is closely linked with the Institute of Organic Chemistry PAS Library. Both libraries share a reading room, storeroom and calalogue but have separate budgets and collections. They also individually provide access to online resources and databases for their institutes.

Inter-library loan service is available during Library opening hours. The service can order various types of publications for Institute employees which are not available in our collection.

The Library collection includes:

• approx. 31,000 books;
• approx. 37,000 journal volumes;
• approx. 900 journal titles (20 current subscriptions);
• approx. 600 doctoral and habilitation dissertations;
• approx. 32,000 specialised collection items (microfilms, microfiches, CDs);
• online access to 33 databases (including approx. 6,800 e-journals and 51,000 e-books).

Information on library collection is available through following catalogues:

• - Online catalogue - at this moment it contains 30,000 items of bibliographical information on books and journals. It is a unified cataloque of IPC PAS and IOC PAS libraries. It is compemented up to date.
• - Alphabetical card catalogues of books and journals.
• - Subject card catalogue of books.
• - Card catalogue of doctoral and habilitation dissertations.
