HR Excellence in Research

The Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences has requested to the European Commission for awarding a logo "HR Excellence in Research" for taking actions aimed at implementation of the provisions of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

The European Charter for Researchers and the Code are the tools developed by the European Commission, which role is to support institutions in creating conditions favoring work and recruitment of researchers. The primary goal of this action is to increase the attractiveness of research careers and prestige of scientists in Europe, as well as development of the European Research Area. So far, more than 580 institutions from 39 countries have joined to the initiative.

Recognizing the impact of the assumptions of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code on the attractiveness of the Institute as an employer and the quality of Institute’s researches, the Institute has decided to join this initiative. For this purpose, the Institute examined the conformity of internal procedures and practices relating to the recruitment and employment of researchers with the principles of the Charter and the Code. Subsequently, a newly established working group developed an action plan for even better adjustment of the Institute of the provisions of these documents. Through these actions the Institute wants to become more attractive employer on an international scale, and the top-ranked research institution in Europe.
