In Dec. 2010, Institute's e-mail system changed to Webmail

Here are some configuration tips for your convenience.

1. How to change interface language from Polish to yours.

  1. Login https://mail.ichf.edu.pl/
    login

  2. Click Ustawienia button on the top-right area.

  3. Then click Interfejs użytkownika button on the left column.

  4. Select your language.
    select language

  5. Finally, click Zapisz to save your configuration.

That's all.


2. How to use IMAP protocol in your e-mail application.

You can use IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) protocol in your e-mail application.

Below is a configuration example for Mozilla Thunderbird.

Even if you use other e-mail application, all necessary information is shown.

  1. Open Account Settings window (Tools - Account Settings) and then
    click Add Mail Account

  2. Input your account information.

  3. Mozilla Thunderbird is smart enough to detect Incoming/Outcoming mail server and their ports automatically. Mail Account Setup

  4. In Outcoming Server (SMTP) Settings make sure that Authentication methiod is Password, transmitted insecurely. Otherwise, you can't send e-mail from your e-mail application. SMTP Server

    If your are afraid of security of this authentication methiod, using Webmail through browser is better.

That's all. In case you use other e-mail applications, necessary server information is;

  • Incoming: mail.ichf.edu.pl, Protocol: IMAP, Port: 143
  • Outcoming: mail.ichf.edu.pl, Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587
